Talks and lectures on campus

In addition to our print and online publications, we also host live events on campus at the University of Exeter. We endeavour to host engaging speakers who are leaders in their respective fields, and who spark very lively discussion.

On Monday 26th October,  The Undergraduate hosted its first live event of the 2016/17 academic year.  Dr. Yaron Brook returned to Exeter once more, this time to talk about ‘free speech and the battle for western civilisation’.

On Tuesday October 21st, 2014, The Undergraduate was proud to host our first live event in collaboration with SEE Talks. Dr. Yaron Brook, the executive director of California’s Ayn Rand Institute and founder of hedge fund BH Equity Research, advanced the moral case for unrestrained laissez-faire capitalism.

After Dr. Brook delivered his speech to a full house in Newman Green (live-streamed to the adjacent Newman Collaborative, which was equally packed), a heated Q&A session ensued.
